ChAD are a committee of adults who have a Learning Disability and speak up on behalf of up to 700 peers in Doncaster.
They meet with the commissioners who plan the services and other organisations to voice their concerns about any issues that may affect their lives and suggest ways of making things more accessible.
They have monthly meetings as a committee to discuss different topics and hold interactive forums to share their work where a larger audience can participate.
They have campaigned on people’s behalf on topics like, Road signage, Changing Place toilets, Accessible Railway crossings, help with staying out late and the rights and choices people should have.
ChAD appreciate that alone it may be hard to speak up and be heard but together their voices are stronger.
