Safety in Doncaster (S.I.D)
Keep Safe card’
S.I.D – SAFETY IN DONCASTER
The ‘keep safe card’ has been running since June 2009.
It has been devised for the purpose of protecting vulnerable people
in the Doncaster borough. This is presently for adults who have a Learning Disability (who are represented by the ChAD committee).
People who choose to take part in this scheme will be given the option of a key ring which bears the S.I.D logo, on the front, (and a space for their own personal phone numbers of people who could be contacted in the event of an emergency. – on the back).
The alternative option is a more detailed fold out card
Shops, pubs, libraries display the S.I.D logo in their windows so that the vulnerable adult can identify that someone there knows about the scheme and how to help them.
This card can be used if someone is feeling unsafe or unwell. I.e., being followed or feeling threatened.
It can also be used by the emergency services to get important information about the person, if they are in an emergency situation.
If you are able to support us by permanently displaying a sticker in your business window (or if you know an adult with a Learning Disability who may benefit from the scheme) or know a vulnerable group who may like to discuss using the scheme please ring Doncaster 01302 965452
Or Email chad@healthwatchdoncaster.org.uk
THIS SCHEME IS FULLY SUPPORTED BY D.M.B.C. THE POLICE & FIRE SERVICE.
ChAD would like to thank the Police Crime Commission for Supporting and Funding further supplies of S.I.D cards and keyrings
