Experts by Experience Training

Three ChAD committee members have completed three days training at Rotherham Speak Up to learn  about CETR (Care Education Treatment reviews), CTR (Care and Treatment Reviews), STOMP (Stop Over Medicating People) and the LEDER project ( a project to try to stop people with LD dying prematurely from conditions like constipation being un-reported /diagnosed).

Now the training is complete the committee members will be able to shadow members of Speak Up for a few sessions to get a true insight of what it entails before going out with support from ChAD.

As ‘experts by experience’  their role is to be supportive of the individual in care and family members   regarding what support is available to them, ensuring their voice is heard , CTR Plans , Personal One page Profiles as well as other documentation is in place , and positive appropriate recommendations are made . They would be working alongside Psychologists , Social Workers and other professionals in Doncaster, Leeds, Sheffield etc. (wherever they chose to take up the work).
